Would You Rather? Chocolate vs. Cheese Eick October 29, 2008 Would You Rather? 16 Comments For many of us foodies and eaters, this question could prove to be a challenging and brutal one to answer – we are discussing the possibility of having to give up one of two of the most popular and versatile foods in the world. Would You Rather? Option #1: You can never eat chocolate again. Option #2: You can never eat cheese again. Things to consider: Cheese & crackers, pizza, nachos, mozzarella sticks, cheeseburgers, omlets. Candy bars, cake, frosting, hot chocolate, chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk. Special thanks to my friend Cassie for recommending this one. Cheese is too good to ditch for your sweet stylings. Eick, you clearly keep cheese. You would turn into a madman if you couldn’t eat any sharp cheddar again for the rest of your life… scary. Reply Grimace October 29th, 2008 I have to go with keeping cheese. I love chocolate, but this isn’t even close. Reply Mishi October 29th, 2008 What a tough decision! I have to admit that I was mildly horrified at the thought of giving up either. But I have to say that at the end of the day, I give my heart to cheese. As a closet foody, I have to say that I find your blog interesting and intriguing. I’m looking forward to reading futher. Reply Eick October 29th, 2008 I am wholly unsurprised by the fact that cheese is more popular than chocolate in a landslide. I’ll take savory over sweet anyday. Reply Krystal October 30th, 2008 I think if I never ate cheese again I wouldn’t even notice. This was a total no-brainer for me. Reply Cary October 31st, 2008 Krystal, you are insane. Cheese is everywhere. It is in the air you breathe. And it can employed for: Breakfast Lunch Dinner Dessert Any goddamn snack any goddamn time. That, my friends, is versatility. Mmm, pepperjack… Reply Eick November 1st, 2008 I suspected that Cheese would win this one fairly handily, but I was curious to see what percentage of the population would choose chocolate. About 1 in 4 is still crazy though. Cheese, is in fact, everywhere, from salads to pizza to…everything. Unless you run a cocoa bean farm or just LOVE eating mole at every meal, I’m shocked that anyone would choose chocolate. Reply Jon November 5th, 2008 Without chocolate you you’d have no chocolate. Without cheese you’d have no pizza, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, cheese whiz, cheese and crackers, tacos, I could go on. It’s a no brainer. Reply Cassie November 6th, 2008 Thanks Eick! I love both sooo much, and I’d like you to create some chocolate coated cheese snack. Get on it! Reply Juliana November 11th, 2008 I guess I’m in the minority…I so prefer sweet over savory….What would I do without my hot cocoa, chocolate dipped strawberries, brownies, chocolate fondue, etc. etc.? Sure, I’d miss feta cheese and pizza, but not at the expense of chocolate! Reply Chris January 16th, 2009 I can live without chocolate easier than cheese. While I enjoy the taste of chocolate more…cheese makes so many things so much better. So if I lose out on cheese it’s like I’m also losing out on cheeseburgers, pizza, lasagna, etc. Reply Raiders757 March 29th, 2009 A world without pizza isn’t worth living in. No cheese on my tacos?! Oh man that would suck. Reply willrun4food May 22nd, 2009 It’s all about the versatility. …wait, no it isn’t. I’ve never been a fan of straight up chocolate. I love chocolate chip cookies, and I could devote a blog to all things Chocolate with PB. But I haven’t had a plain Hershey’s in…wow. Whereas I could honestly make a small meal of cubed/sliced cheese.
