Complain All You Want About Inflation… Eick December 23, 2008 Advertising, Fast Food 5 Comments But as the commercial below shows, in 1987 they were offering a McDonald’s double cheeseburger for $.99 for “a limited time.” 21 years later, you can still get a double cheeseburger (or at least a McDouble) off the dollar menu. Despite rising prices on just about everything, you can still eat damn cheap at fast food places – your health and stomach might not thank you, but in these tough economic times your wallet will. On a side note, look closely at the burger patties. Are those pieces of onions cooked INTO the burger patty?
