As many of you may know, Prop 19, which is on the ballot this year in California, would legalize marijuana in the state. Polls have shown the ballot measure with a very small, but consistent, lead.  So Good’s views on the absurdity of marijuana still being illegal are well–documented, so there is no soapbox rant here.

Instead, I want to note the food connections to the potential legalization of marijuana.  Many people enjoy the mental release and relaxation that marijuana provides, but don’t enjoy smoking or want to avoid the negative health effects of inhaling smoke. Many of these individuals turn to “edibles”, various types of food with marijuana/THC as part of the recipe. The latest marijuana-infused food to hit the market? Ice cream:
