Would You Rather? Pickles vs. Olives Eick August 17, 2011 Would You Rather? 8 Comments It’s Wednesday, which means it’s Would You Rather time. When I was going to college in Saratoga Springs, NY, my favorite sandwich place was a spot called Roma’s. An army of employees would await you behind the deli counter, freshly slicing whatever meat and cheese you wanted for your sandwich. The Russian dressing was heaven. Even though I almost never get roast beef, their roast beef was exquisite. My go-to order: Roast Beef with sharp white Vermont cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onions, Russian dressing. Delicious. But one unique thing that set Roma’s apart was the final question they asked you: pickles or olives on the side? Today, that becomes our would you rather. Option #1: You can never eat pickles again. Option #2: You can never eat olives again. Share in the comments why you made the choice you did. I don’t like olives. Reply Frank August 17th, 2011 Oooo toughie, but does Choosing pickles eliminate me from all olive products, such as olive oil? If so, there is no choice in my mind that I would choose Olives over Pickes to keep eating. If NOT, I would choose pickles over olives. Reply stacey@Havoc&Mayhem August 17th, 2011 can’t stand pickles so this was easy Reply Adam McPherson August 19th, 2011 Oh Man! This is one tough choice but in the end I would have to choose Olives. I mean there a few things better than eating at a good olive bar. 🙂 Reply Lis August 21st, 2011 Olives are gross. Pickles are awesome. Done. Reply Chefprotoss August 22nd, 2011 Neither. I would rather die than life in the hypothetical world where this hypothetical question is reality. Not voting. =P Reply Chefprotoss August 22nd, 2011 *live in* Reply Cynthia August 23rd, 2011 We have been a pickle eating family for as long as I can remember. My grandmother used to make her own. Now, give me a Claussen and I’m a happy camper. (btw – ever tried them deep fried, yum!)
