Would You Rather? A1 vs. Tabasco Eick August 24, 2011 Would You Rather? 9 Comments It’s Wednesday, which means it’s Would You Rather time. Today, we have a head-to-head battle between two of the most famous name-brand condiments out there: A1 steak sauce and Tabasco. Option #1: You can never eat A1 Sauce again. Option #2: You can never eat Tabasco again. Share in the comments why you made the choice you did. I like Crystal much better. So A1 stays, though I rarely use it. Reply Julien August 24th, 2011 For Tabasco, there are many close substitutes, readily available and cheaper. Now ditching A1 leaves you downing something obscure or buying something that doesn’t taste all that close, like Pickapeppa or Heinz 57. Reply mark August 25th, 2011 I almost never use A1 as it is so losing it would not be a big deal. If there is a steak that needs A1 to be palatable then is shouldn’t be eating it anyway Reply Dave August 25th, 2011 Abstaining, because I’m fine without either! Reply Jesse (Great Grandmother's Kitchen) August 26th, 2011 I’ll keep my Tabasco, thank you! That and Cholula are probably the most used condiments in my home. Also, A1 has a funny aftertaste to me. I prefer Japanese tonkatsu sauce, instead, and never on steaks (if you have to cover it up, you’re doing it wrong). Reply Heather September 3rd, 2011 I voted for A1 to stay because I’d much rather have sriracha than tabasco. mmm I love sriracha. but I don’t eat steak so I usually dip crisps into A1. 😛 Reply julia November 5th, 2011 Hot sauce > A1. Hands down. Reply Kat March 2nd, 2013 Why does Tabasco always get chosen as “the” hot sauce? I personally think it tastes like the watered down liquid that you would soak a copper penny in (if you just happened to do that.) Franks is best, and A1 all the way!! Reply Lee451 March 2nd, 2013 There are hundreds of hot sauces but there is only one A1 Reply Leave a ReplyYour email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
