Baby’s First Butcher Shop Eick August 14, 2012 Interesting 3 Comments They just don’t make toys like they used to. This “grisly 1840 doll-sized butcher shop with miniature animal carcasses and a floor covered in sawdust and blood” was recently highlighted on Collectors Weekly. Nowadays, many of us are happy to be oblivious and ignorant of the source of our food, but in Victorian times, elaborate models of butcher shops were not uncommon. What do you think? Would you buy an antique toy such as this for one of your kids? Or maybe as a collectible item for yourself? Mark August 14th, 2012 I would buy this in a heartbeat. I try to break down meat in front of my kids as much as possible so they understand it’s source. If anyone is looking for a Christmas present for me, this would be great . Reply
