Would You Rather? Slim Jims vs. Pop Tarts Eick November 7, 2012 Would You Rather? 4 Comments Would You Rather Wednesdays continue and today pits two completely dissimilar junk foods/snacks against each other. You’ve heard of Pop Tarts from Kellog’s, no? Of course you have. And hopefully you have seen Slim Jims in just about every gas station and corner store in America. Side note: what’s inside a Slim Jim? 3 years ago Wired investigated. So lets get to the choice. Option #1: You must eat a Slim Jim every day for the rest of your life. Option #2: You must eat a Pop Tart every day for the rest of your life. We are talking about 1 single Pop Tart pastry each day (two come in each sleeve). For Slim Jims we are talking about the “Giant Slim Snack Stick” version – which is the 28g size you see standard at most stores. How does the nutritional info break down? A Pop Tart can vary based on which flavor you opt for, but, for example, the frosted strawberry gives you 20o calories, 5g of fat and 38g of carbohydrates. A Slim Jim gives you 150 calories, 13g of fat and 2g of carbohydrates. You are free to choose any style or flavor of Pop Tart you wish, every single day. Likewise for Slim Jims, you can have the original, mild, Tabasco flavors, whichever you want. Please share in the comments which you would choose to eat every day for the rest of your life and why. I also tend to be weirded out about how the fat in the snack is liquid at room temperature, so it oozes out of each bite and splatters in your mouth on each chew. I’m much more of a Pop-Tarts fan, as you can see: http://ephemeralnoms.blogspot.com/search/label/breakfast Reply Vee November 9th, 2012 Pop Tarts are disgusting. I don’t think I personally know anyone over the age of 12 who enjoys them. Slim Jims aren’t so great either, but its the lesser of two evils. :-/ Reply Just comemnting November 20th, 2012 SLIM JIM!!!!!I need a 40 foot long now! Reply Reverend Flash November 25th, 2012 Pop-Tarts have more varieties than Slim Jims. Also, a food like a Pop-Tart can be therapeutic (ease your stomach) while a food like a Slim Jim can necessitate therapy (aggravate your stomach). Lastly, even after you’ve tried all of the Pop-Tart varieties, you can double your variety with the toasted/untoasted choice.
