What Is A Twinkie Dog? JT March 3, 2013 Baseball, Junk Food With baseball lagging in third place behind football and basketball for the nation’s attention, folks are coming up with innovative ideas to get people to the ballpark. This is true for both the majors as well as the lower levels. Take the Battle Creek Bombers, a Michigan-based team in the Northwoods League – a group of teams composed of collegiate players. In order to get a few more people to the park, they recently spiced up their menu. The one item I find the most interesting? The Twinkie Dog (see above). This is a hot dog that uses a split Twinkie as a bun, with cheese on top. [Apparently, Twinkies are still being made in Canada, and that’s not far from BC.] While I’ve never heard of this creation, apparently, it has made the rounds before. Weird Al/UHF – check. Wait, wait – check. And now, baseball. Have you ever heard of the Twinkie Dog? And perhaps more importantly, would you try it? H/t to MLive for the top photo. Check out the LSJ for the architects behind this coup.
