Review: Cheetos Shots, Flamin’ Hot Limon Junk Food Guy April 9, 2013 Junk Food, Reviews Hey So Good readers! Just your friendly neighborhood Junk Food Guy here, and I don’t know about you, but I am GLAD that Spring is FINALLY HERE. Today in DC we are looking at a high of 71. 71! Last week, the temps were close to freezing. And people wonder why I keep getting sick. As temps reach above 70 for the next three days, I am looking forward to some increased Vitamin D, to strolling home from work, and to halter tops. DC HAS OFFICIALLY ENTERED HALTER TOP SEASON! Some people love Spring for golf, and I…well, I clearly like other things 😉 Anyways, to today’s junk food: Cheetos Shots, Flamin’ Hot Limon! I purchased these Flamin’ Hot Limon Cheetos Shots when I was in Mexico over New Years. This Sabritas snack featured Chester Cheetah, and came in a longish-style handheld bag. Judging from the cartoon, I guess you’re supposed to rip, and shake the insides into your mouth. Like a Cheetos To-Go bag. Innovative? Flamin’ Hot Limon Cheetos Shots even come with instructions! Translated, the above reads: Open your mouth and enjoy your points (?) without staining your fingers, your computer, your cellphone, you game controller…” Ah ha! This IS designed to be a finger free snack! Flamin’ Hot Limon Cheetos Shots are a hot cheesy chili lemon flavor, with…148 calories? Unsure. I opened the bag of Flamin’ Hot Limon Cheetos Shots, and shook some out…tiny little Cheetos! Placing my nose to the bag’s opening, I could smell lots of chili powder and the bag had a slight sour aroma…not the most pleasant, but not really off-putting. I did what I was told, tilted my head back, opened my mouth and poured… In the end, these Flamin’ Hot Limon Cheetos Shots were just little bits of Cheetos. And they were woooo spicy. The crunch of these Cheetos Shots were exactly like normal Cheetos – crunchy, with a nice rough texture on the outside. The flavor was on point – very spicy and tangy. The limon did not overpower and did not taste artificial. Instead, it gave the Cheetos a nice tang and provided the chili with a nice contrast to the overall cheesy spicy savoriness. The chili powder was hot, but flavorful – nice and bright, this burned quickly and left the tongue tingling with spicy cheese flavor. All in all, these Cheetos Shots were pretty good – delivered on the flavor, and easy to eat. Honestly, it was like dumping all the little bits at the bottom of a chip bag into your mouth. I have to imagine that *that* was what these were meant to replicate. Thoughts? Please comment below or hit me up on Twitter @junkfoodguy and read more reviews at JunkFoodGuy.com. Let’s hang out.
